Marylou Brissett's Obituary
Marylou "LOU" Brissett passed away on May 15, 2010 in Scappoose after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was 75.
Born in Bloomington, Illinois, June 10, 1934 to James and Mary E. Patrick Couch. She was then raised in Walnut Creek, California, where she attended school ands married in her senior year. Married life took her to live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Nevada and finally to Oregon. She moved from Portland to Scappoose 35+ years ago and became a friend to many in this town. You may remember her working in the Cinnamon tree or cooking until she retired at Carol's Place.
She loved joining friends for coffee at Ichabods, a little gambling at Lung Fungs or Spirit Mountain, and shopping 2nd hand stores and garage sales, mostly she loved and was very proud of her family!
She was preceded in death by her husband, "Big" Jim Brissett and is survived by her four children; Janie Fontenot of Scappoose, Russell Willhite of Portland, Robin Willhite Barnum of Beaverton and Shawn Wood of Portland. Grandmother to eight and great-grandmother to four that live in Scappoose, Portland, Flagstaff, AZ and Millville, NJ.
Please donate in her memory to the Scappoose Senior Center "Meals on Wheels" program from which she received wonderful food and caring company from many a volunteer.
