Melvin E. Johnson's Obituary
Melvin E. Johnson was born on July 26, 1921 in Warren, OR. to David & Esther Grorquist Johnson.
He died at a Tigard care facility on January 13, 2007 at the age of 85.
He was educated in Warren and graduated from Scappoose Hi in '39.
He was married to Doreen Hedberg in 1943 she preceded him in death in 1971. He married Theresa McNeeley in 1972. He moved to Tigard from Warren that year until present.
He was a cucumber and strawberry farmer and millwright, retiring in 1981. Had some of the largest rock crushers in Hilo, Hawaii.
He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tigard for 35 years. Early on he was a member of the Elks Lodge and he enjoyed wood crafting merry-go- rounds and windmills.
Survivors include: Wife: Theresa Johnson; Daughter & Spouse: Yvonne & Wayne Larson; Grandson & spouse: Brian Marnie Larson; great grandchildren: Ryan & Annika Larson; Sister: Elsie Mason; Stepson & spouse: David & Bonnie McNeeley; 4 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren.
Memorial service: Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church-Tigard.
Private interment: Bethany Memorial Cemetery-Warren, Oregon
