Mike was a good friend, a brother Mason, the grandfather I never had, and a mentor. He always met me with a twinkle in his eye, and a smile. We traveled together numerous times to various Masonic functions, and I always looked forward to those trips, and the stories that were told. I enjoyed watching him enjoy life. Just spending time with him watching the Christmas ships, looking at pictures of the family he loved so much, and helping him get ready for our travels are some great memories. His enthusiasm for Masonry, and its appendant organization of the York Rite was contagious. He always had faith in, and encouragement for those that needed it. I regret that I did not meet him sooner, but I am very glad we had the time we did. I really miss him, but look forward to seeing him again. Masonry is about making good men better, and I can definitely say that Mike was the best!
