Michael Lawrence Campbell's Obituary
Michael Lawrence Campbell was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Portland, Oregon, the son of Melvin and Lillian Campbell. Graduating from Marshall High School in 1962, Michael attended Multnomah Community College and then the School of Mortuary Science in San Francisco. Throughout his career, he served as a funeral director, salesperson at Chappell Trucking, and a part-time employee at QFC. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserves, Kiwanis, and Elks. On September 10, 1966, he married Gail F. Hass.
He is survived by his wife; children: son, Jon L. Campbell (Amanda) and daughter, Julie A Garrison (Perry); and brother, Dennis Campbell. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Hailey Zweigart, Brent Garrison, Alana Garrison, Olive Campbell, and Fritz Campbell, as well as his great-grandchild, Ava Zweigart.
Michael was affectionately known as Papa Mike or Papo. Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and found solace in the warmth of Palm Springs, and enjoyed golf and reading newspapers.
In honoring his memory, contributions to the Portland Providence Cancer Research Center or Boys and Girls Aid would be deeply appreciated in lieu of flowers.
