Michael Robert Pohl's Obituary
Michael Robert Pohl passed away suddenly on September 5, 2023. He was returning home from a trip helping his mom move when an oncoming vehicle swerved into his lane and ended his life instantly.
Michael was 59, and was born in Burlington, Iowa, February 13, 1964. He grew up there with his 3 siblings, Tina, Becky, and Matt, and his parents, Robert Wallace Pohl (who predeceased him), and Joyce Marie Pohl. Michael moved to Colorado in 1982 and in 1986 helped to open and manage several Perkins where he would eventually, and proudly, win the Super Spat award with is good friend, Lance.
Around 1996, he decided to do a career shift and began going to school to be an electrician where he became a member of IBEW 68 and went so far as to get his master's license in Colorado. When he and his family moved to Oregon he joined IBEW 48 as a Journeyman and has worked steadily with the Union. He loved and appreciated the family of the Brotherhood in the Union and took special care to train his apprentices.
Michael's retirement plans was to work on his little farm with a tractor and to volunteer his spare time helping “Habitat of Humanity”. He was an avid Denver Broncos, and Iowa Hawkeyes fan but his favorite things to brag about were his kids. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Rene Pohl, of 36 years and his three children Zachary, Krista, and Ariel Pohl. Any memorial contributions should be sent to Habitat for Humanity. For Celebration of Life services information please email Krista at [email protected].
