Michael W. McCann's Obituary
Michael W. McCann was born on July 20, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Marvin & Linda Schuh McCann.
He died at his home in St. Helens on February 25, 2009 at the age of 52.
He moved to Banks, Oregon at the age of 6 and to St. Helens at age 13, living here until present. He graduated from St. Helens High School in 1974. He went on to marry Teresa Gunn in St. Helens on December 19, 1977. He worked for Boise for 20 years and for the rock quarry as a heavy equipment operator for 5 years.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. He loved life and enjoyed family gatherings, music, his guitar and singing, softball, fishing, hunting, golfing. He was very humerous and entertaining.
Survivors include: Mother: Linda Schun of Absarkee, MT.; Step-mothers: Ann Walters and Linda Nielsen; Wife Teresa McCann of St. Helens; 3 children: Heidi Green of St. Helens; Jason McCann of Portland; Jennifer McCann of St. Helens; 9 siblings: Kathy Abercrombie of Absarkee, MT.; Tammy Strader of Portland; Jack McCann; Donna Woods; Sheryl Williams all of St. Helens; Don Melcher of Scappoose; Kevin McCann, Rick McCann both of Portland; Jamie Marks of Columbia City; 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
Celebration of Life: at Grace Baptist Church Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 5-7PM.
