Michele Lamar's Obituary
Michele Lamar, passed away on January 22, 2025, in St Helens, OR, at the age of 68. She was born on
July 16, 1956, in Astoria, OR, to Clinton and Maxine Lamar.
Michele is survived by her sisters and brother in laws, Betty and Mike Lust, Sherry and John Kluge, Susan Metcalf and brothers Shane Lamar and Kevin and Deb Lamar. Michele is also survived by nieces and nephews who were very important to her; Tia Bledsoe, Jennifer and Dan Nelson, Jeremiah Lamar and Meaghan Christopher, Sareena Nunez, Melissa and Chad Dinsmore, Zach Lamar, Ava Nunez, Alex and Jared Debban, Miles Nunez, Cooper Nelson, Spencer Nelson, Noah Lust, Harley Dinsmore, Ryder Dinsmore. Michele was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Brian Lamar, nephews Jason Lamar, CJ Lamar and Michael Lust.
Also left behind are many good friends. Talayna Gunn who was like a daughter to Michele and her son Jace. Kim Petty, Lacia Turner and Naomi Pankow whose long friendships meant a lot to her.
Michele graduated from Astoria High School in 1974, attended Bible College in Minnesota and went on to graduate from Portland State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She also graduated from Western Oregon State University with a Masters degree in History. Michele worked for many years at Clatsop Community College in Astoria before going to work for Community Action Team for the past 21 years. Michele loved to travel and had the opportunity to travel to Europe three times. The first time was on a biking trip through France and England. On subsequent trips Michele also visited The Netherlands, Denmark. Sweden Italy, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Finland, Germany, Egypt, Russia, Estonia, Iceland, Palestine, Vatican City and Canada. Michele loved to write and draw, writing and illustrating two children’s books; A Brother’s Promise and The Treasures of Kindness. Michele was active in drama while living in Astoria and acted in several plays. She loved history and had strong opinions on politics and was always up for a good debate.
At Michele’s request, a service will not be held. Her ashes will be laid to rest with her father.
Michele will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
