Mildred G. Sherburne's Obituary
Mildred G. Sherburne was born on April 4, 1917 in Ogallah, Kansas to John Magnus & Selma Marie Backstrom Anderson.
She died at a Portland hospital on April 13, 2007 at the age of 90.
She moved to the Downing/Mehger area at the age of 3. Graduated from Clatskanie Hi in 1934. Lived in Rainier until she moved to St. Helens in 1967 until present.
She married George Sherburn in 1935 in Longview, WA.; he preceded her in death on 10/14/57.
She was a clerk at the Columbia County Tax Office for 18 years, retiring in 1982.
Member of First Christian Church, where she was a church treasurer and active in the womens group. She volunteered at the Senior Center.
Her interests included traveling, trips included Europe, all over the U.S. and Hawaii. She enjoyed her flower gardening, painting, piano, her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include: Children: Janice Evers of Forest Grove, OR.; Caroline Wisegarver of Ridgefield, WA.; Dan Sherburne of St. Louis, MO.; Philip Sherburne of Seattle, WA.; Suzanne Burke of Gaston, OR.; Sister: Helen Jackson of Portland, OR.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; preceded in death by brothers: George-'83, Wallace-'87.
Funeral Service: Friday, April 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church.
Committal Service & Vault Interment: Green Mountain Cemetery-Rainier, OR.
