Mildred Martha Ashley's Obituary

Mrs. Ashley passed away April 25th in Portland. She was 79 years old.
Mildred was born, December 17, 1931 in Stuart, Nebraska to Glen Earl and Violet Sarah Allshouse Mott. When she was 8 years old the family moved West to Bellingham, Washington where she graduated from Mt. Baker High School in 1951. A year later she married Leslie Ashley in Vancouver, Washington on October 17, 1952. Leslie preceded her in death in 2004. Later in 1952 they moved to Scappoose. Mildred worked for Brocks Candles in Scappoose for over 30 years retiring as a Supervisor in 1996. She was an avid gardener and loved feeding the birds and squirrels that entertained her in her yard. May she rest in peace.
Mildred is survived by her four sons; Jimmie & wife Susan Ashley of St. Helens, Larry & wife Kathy Ashley Columbia City, Allen Ashley and Kenny Ashley both of Scappoose. Three Grandchildren; Josh, Jason & wife Amber, and Dawn Marie, Great Grandsons; Christopher Ashley, Marco & Benito Barragan sister; Helen Hansen of Scappoose, step-sisters, Carolyn Barger of Portland, Helen Sandau of Portland & Lily Goodwin of The Dalles, Step-brothers, Raymond & Donnie Unger of Scappoose. She was preceded by brother Bob Mott, step-brother, John Unger and her husband, Leslie Ashley.
