Morton L. Phillips' Obituary
Morton L. Phillips was born on February 7, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia to Hiram C. & Alice Carter Phillips.
He died at his home in St. Helens, Oregon on
June 22, 2012 at the age of 87.
Morton was educated in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated in 1942. He was in the Navy from 1942 to 1945. Married to Catherine Sala on March 25, 1945 at Holy Family Church in Brooklyn, NY. She preceded him in death in 2001.
His work as an aircraft technician with Pan American Airways moved him around. And after 16 years he retired in 1983. They moved to Aloha, Oregon in 1999 from Las Vegas, NV., living in Oregon for the past 13 years.
Morton was a member of St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens, Life Member of the VFW and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. His enjoyments included golf and his family.
Survivors include: Children: Carol Upchurch of St. Helens; Morton L. Phillips, Jr. Maria of Naples, FL.; Joseph Phillips Diane of Houston, TX.; 15 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren.
Mass Of Christian Burial: Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Frederic Catholic Church-St. Helens.
