Nellie Marie Dean's Obituary
Nellie Marie Dean was born on April 6, 1910 in Taos, N. Mexico to Remigio & Genoveva Barela Gurule.
She died at a St. Helens care center on January 2, 2005 at the age of 94.
She was educated and went to college in N. Mexico, she married Clement in 1929 in N. Mexico. He preceded her in death on 11/28/1993.
She moved to Redondo Beach, CA. from N. Mexico in 1943, living there until 1993 when she moved to Scappoose to be close to her daughter.
She had a number of occupations: LPN, primary school teacher, electronic supervisor and quality control, store clerk at Woolworth, upholsterer and licensed ham operator, her last occupation was a teacher at a beauty college.
She was raised Catholic, member of the Congregational Church in Redondo Beach, CA. and attended the LDS church as well. She sang in the Sweet Adelines, was a seamstress, also enjoyed knitting, crotcheting, crafts, an avid flower gardener and her pet poodle.

OR.; Stanley Dean of Los Alamos, CA.; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson.
Funeral Service: Friday, January 7, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Columbia Funeral Home-St. Helens, OR.
Committal service & vault interment: Pacific Crest Cemetery-Redondo Beach, CA.
