Neoma Bernice Patterson
Neoma Bernice Patterson of Scappoose died December 6th, 2009 in a Portland care facility at the age of 88.
She was born May 8, 1921 in Minong, Wisconsin to Garrion G. and Millie May Mitts McCord.
Neoma received her education in Minong and then served in the US Navy from December 12, 1943 through October 22, 1945 as a Navy Nurse and afterward was a welder in the Portland shipyards.
She married Lester Patterson who preceded her in death in 1995.
Neoma lived in Redmond prior to moving to Scappoose in 1990 until present.
She was a member of Creekside Baptist Church in Scappoose and her interests included doll collecting, crocheting, sewing, crafts and reading.
Survivors include: Children: Shirley Robertson of Scappoose; Steve Patterson of Portland; Robert Patterson; Leslie Ware both of Oregon City; Lester G. Patterson, Jr. of Portland; Larry Horner of CA.; David Horner of TN.; Raymond Patterson of WA.; Lesta Patterson; Linda Horner both of TN.; numerous grandchildren. Preceded in death by son: David Robertson in February of 1961.
Viewing & Visitation Thursday, December 10th 9-5 PM, followed by Funeral services at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 11th at Columbia Funeral Home. 1:30 PM Military Committal Service at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
