Opal Mae Messenger was born on November 21, 1931 in Yakima, WA. to Claude & Oralee Matlock Barrick.
She died at her home in St. Helens on June 16, 2005 at the age of 73.
She moved to Marion Co. from Washington and the to St. Helens in 1965 until present.
She married Clarence on June 12, 1950 in Lane Co., Oregon. They had just celebrated thier 55th wedding anniversary.
She was a homemaker that volunteered with the blood mobile and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include: Husband: Clarence Messenger of St. Helens; Sons & Daughter-in-laws: John & Diana Messenger of St. Helens, OR.; Steve & Jo Messenger of Columbia City, OR.; Brother & Sister in Laws: Glen & Vi Barrick; Betty Barrick all of St. Helens, OR.; 5 grandchildren; Breezy, Travis, James, Raymond & Benjamin Messenger; 5 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-5 Monday at Columbia Funeral Home
Funeral Service: Tuesday; June 21, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Park Community Church
Private Family Committal Service & Vault interment: Masonic Cemetery.
