Paul Donald Brasmer's Obituary
Paul Donald "Wamp" Brasmer was born on March 19, 1926 in St. Helens to John Arthur and Ola Ethel Skinner Brasmer the 3rd of 4 children.
Paul attended St. Helens High School and enlisted with the United States Navy to serve during World War II from 1943 until 1946. His first marriage brought 3 daughters into his life and in August of 1968 he married Frances J. Burchett Jones.
In his younger days, Paul drove logging trucks, operated the Richfield Service Station on Highway 30 in St. Helens before going to work for Crown Zellerbach until he retired at the age of 56 in 1982. Paul drove stock cars at the local fairgrounds during the 1950's, hunted and fished Columbia County for many years, restored several cars over the years.
He loved watching NASCAR.
Paul is survived by his children; Paulette Owsley of Boise, Idaho, Beverly Friberg of Scappoose and Mary Jo Simpson of St. Helens, step-daughters; Garlene Cooper and Lynda Wilson, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, sister; June Kerr of Hermiston, Oregon.
Predeceased by wife; Frances, siblings; John Brasmer and Vianna Pihlaja and great grandson, Jestin Kearsley
Paul passed away in Scappoose on July 13th at the age of 86.
Private services will be held later.
