Paul - Gertiser's Obituary
Paul Gertiser was born on September 27, 1913 in Strafford, MO. to Julius & Josie Schwartz Gertiser.
He died at a St. Helens assisted living center on October 17, 2005 at the age of 92.
He was educated in Missouri and went into the Navy at age 17. from 1921-1958. He was in WWII and the Korean War. He received medals consisting of the American Defense, National Defense, 1 Star,
American Theatre, Asiatic Pacific +1 Star, WWII Victory Medal, Korean Service, 2 Stars, United Nations, Good Conduct, +2 Stars.
He married Lucy in California in March of 1958.
They traveled and lived in Montana on a ranch after his retirement eventually locating in Reedsport, OR. in 1968 for 30 years, until recently moving to St. Helens to be close to family.
He was very well liked and respected and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survived by: Wife: Lucy Gertiser of St. Helens; Son: Paul M. Gertiser of Arkansas; Nephew: Dustin Schneider of St. Helens.
