Perry Allen Bogardus' Obituary
Perry Allen Bogardus of St. Helens, Oregon passed away at the age of 85 on January 19, 2022. Perry was born in Britton, South Dakota to Royal and Helen Bogardus on July 26, 1936.
Perry resided in St. Helens all his life. He attended St. Helens Senior High and graduated in 1955. He was a phenomenal athlete and excelled in sports, including playing in the Shriner's football game. He also excelled at boxing and was a Golden Glove. Perry enjoyed cars and racing cars. Perry worked at Boise Cascade and then became a carpenter in commercial construction. He always enjoyed driving through the Metro area and pointing out buildings he had worked on.
Perry was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed attending 13 Nights on the River. He loved music and socializing and would say "I have never met a stranger.” He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. His favorite trip was to Ireland and his picture of Ireland is a prized possession. He enjoyed spending time with his whole family and is beloved by all.
Perry is preceded in death by parents, Royal and Helen Bogardus; brothers, Robert Bogardus and Ronald Bogardus; and sister, Shirley Lowe (Bogardus).
Perry is survived by son, Cory Allen (Cindy); daughter, Kara Sound; grandson, Brandon Sound; granddaughter, Kailey Sound; sisters Sherree Bogardus and Rosalie Fitch (Bogardus); along with many nieces and nephews.
