Ralph Clifton Seastone's Obituary
Ralph Clifton Seastone died June 25, 2008, in Scappoose, Oregon, joining his wife, Ruthe Mae and his son Ralph Jr. in heaven. Ralph was born September 4, 1921 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to Gustave and Rachel Seastone.
Ralph married his love, Ruthe Mae Sutter. They lived in Salem, Oregon, where he was an active member of the VFW and American Legion, Post 661 where he served as a Past Post Commander. He was a lifetime member of both organizations. They both enjoyed the company of many friends and family.
Ralph was a World War II, Navy Veteran. Until his retirement, he worked at the Oregon State Hospital as a nurse, transportation officer, orderly and enforcement.
Ralph loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his grandsons, great grandson and great granddaughters. He loved woodworking, gardening and building. He was a true craftsman and handyman. He enjoyed playing cards and games but most of all he loved being surrounded by his family.
Ralph spent most of his time helping others. He never had a hand he wasn't willing to lend. Many people, friends and family and even strangers received and were touched by his generosity.
His love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren was ever present. He blessed them with his gentle kindness and devoted attention. He will remain in their memory as the "Greatest Grandpa".
He is survived by his sister, Ellen, his daughter, stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He lived his life loving and teaching us all and he served his country proudly.
We will miss you Grandpa Ralph, you are forever in our hearts and will live on in our memories.
