Resalee
It's nice to know I had a brother.
We had the same Father, Ralph Lee Robertson. Ralph Jr. Was 8 months younger than I.
My birth name was Rosalee Robertson. I was born in April of 1941.
Neither of us knew the other existed.
My Mother and Father divorced before I was born.
Apparently she broke it off and then regretted it. She talked lovingly about him the first 2 years of my life.
So when I was 37, I travelled from DC, where I worked as a TV promotion writer and producer- to NY City, where I believed he might be living.
Instead I founfmd my half- brother Ralph, Jr. It was surreal for both of us.
we got along great. And in a few months, he and his wife invited me to come visit them in the Bronx I believe it was..it was it maybe Brookkyn.
We had a lovely week.
That was in 1978.
We lost touch. I had so many families. My grandparents raised me from age 2 to 9; then an Aunt and Uncle who had never been able to have children, adopted me.
After college and many years as a writer for tv. advertising and corporate, I met the love of my life, John Strader. We married and He went to Heavenb 2 years ago. I miss him every day aftercl 35 years of marriage.
But Ralph Jr. was a handsome. Talented, fine man, working as a music rehab therapist in Manhattan.
I read about his death a few years ago in 2014 and that he had a beautiful. talented daughter. I guess she woul be my niece. I would love to meet her some day.
It was just nice to know I hsd a brother. And wasnt an only child.
Rest In piece. Ralph. I know youre in Heaven where there is no pain, only joy.
