Randy Leroy Gump's Obituary
A celebration of life will be held at the St. Helens Elks on Saturday, June 12, from 1 to 3 pm.
Randy Leroy Gump was born January 20, 1956 in St. Helens Oregon. He died on June 5, 2010 at his home of natural causes. He was 54.
Randy is survived by his wife of 24 years, Malinda Mindy and their children Jerrod and Nichole. Other survivors include his mother Evelyn Boursaw of Rainier; sister Connie Williams of Portland and brothers Jack of Rainier and Ted of Idaho. He also is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his by his father Leslie Jiggs and brothers Terry and Ronny.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran SeaBees and worked in construction with Union Local 320 in Portland for over 30 years. He was a hard worker. He planned to retire later this year.
The Gump farm was frequented by many family and friends. He always had an open door; he was very generous. He loved back yard rib parties, throwing horse shoes and especially sitting around the wood stove in the shop with friends and family telling stories about life experiences and the good old times.
Randy was a respected and knowledgeable outdoorsman. He was happiest when he was hunting-he would say "the games afoot!" He also enjoyed ocean and lake fishing, clam digging and camping with his family and friends. He also loved boating and water skiing. Just a few of his favorite Oregon camping and hunting spots included Barview, Big Eddie, Lake Billy Chinook, Seneca and Saddle Mountain.
The ultimate joy of his life were his wife and children. He was a loving husband and father.
Randy was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.
