Obituary of Rex Wayne Flatt
A celebration of life service will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 18th at the Morning Star Worship Center, 33509 Williams St, Scappoose, Oregon. Reception to follow the service at the Columbia Tribute Center, 681 Columbia Blvd. St. Helens. Rex passed away at a Portland Hospital, December 12, 2010. He was 65 years old.
Born June 30, 1945 in Portland, Oregon to Cecil Andrew and Edith May Loveall Flatt, Rex was the youngest of three children. He attended Newport High School. On August 9th, 1968 he married Carol Sue Lowery. They moved from Newport area to Scappoose in 1970. Rex worked as a Floor Supervisor for Meyer Steel Drum, Inc. retiring after 40 years of service. He and his wife have been members of Morning Star Worship Center for over 22 years.
Rex s love for his church and family was always foremost in his life. He had a very compassionate heart and willingness to help others with their needs. He was a great tease to his family as well as to others. Rex was an avid sportsman including fishing, hunting, camping and racecars. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Rex is survived by his wife, Carol, daughters; Mariah Flatt and Jan Saeler, siblings; Tom Flatt and Barbara Brissett. He is preceded in death by his daughter Tracey Flatt.
