Please accept my condolences for the passing of Rick. He was one of my Spanish students at the Defense Language Institute quite a number of years ago, and we kept in touch via fb and telephone from time to time. I had the pleasure to be his supervisor while he was stationed in Panama (1985 & 86). I can proudly say that he was a great soldier, friend and person. Always looking after himself and others! I know is hard to lose a loved one but I pray that God give the family peace and strength though these hard moments, but we know that now he is in peace and happiness for eternity. God blessed you brother!
Sad to hear if Rick’s passing. It was an honor to serve with him in the 80’s. Our command in Panama was comprised of several branches of the military who tended to stick with their own. Notably, Rick was equally at ease working or hanging with members of all branches and was always up for an adventure. Seemed like everyone at Galeta knew Woot! A unique slice of God’s work.
Fair winds and following seas my brother. Ya left us a bit early, but left your mark on the world.

A beautiful tribute to Rick. I will miss his FB posts. I knew Rick in Panama. We were on the same trick/shift. He was smart and very entertaining to be around. Never a dull moment. Rick, I know you are smiling down on us and having a good laugh. Until we meet again🙏❤️
Rick and I played little league baseball together and his dad was the coach. We remained all through high school. We spent some time together catching up through his illness and I will never forget the laughs and spending a day with him on the tree farm. RIP my friend, I will see you again one day.
Rick was a true individual. A character larger than life. I enjoyed his little pod casts and his signature sign off. His wit and love of family and pets was wonderful. He could complete the NYTimes sunday crossword in under an hour, astounding. He had a wealth of life experience and talent. His wood works were lovely, any of you that have one should hang onto it. Missing his posts of Huey and the man shed. Breathe well on the otherside. We have enough family there to keep you busy.

I always considered Rick a good friend. I will miss his infinite wisdom and humor. I know he and Tim G are reunited in heaven. Saddened by the loss. Peace be with you my friend.
Rick I am so very sad you are not here making me laugh, bit I am so very happy you are no longer in pain and can take deep pain free breaths. I was so grateful you made the carpool to work so much better. We could start the day with a smile.
Rick was the best of us. He was a good friend for many years. Rest easy old friend. I will miss him greatly.
