Richard W. McDowall's Obituary
Richard W. McDowall was born on October 14, 1937 in Livingston, MT. to Norris & Hattie Dodge McDowall.
He died at a Longview, WA. hospice center on March 24, 2007 at the age of 69.
He moved to Oregon in 1939. He lived in Cottage Grove, Oregon where he recieved his education, graduating in 1955.
He was in the Army from 1958 to 1960.
He married Carla Jean Lanning in 1958, she preceded him in death in 1995. He moved to Scappoose from Portland in 1995. He married Carol Darrow on 5/25/1996 in Scappoose.
He worked for Griffith Rubber Mills for 37 years, retiring in 2000 as plant manager.
He was a member of the Foursquare Church in Scappoose. He enjoyed woodworking, civil war history, camping, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include: Wife Carol McDowall of Scappoose; Sonia McDowall of Portland; Kimberly McDowall of Aloha, OR.; Stepchildren: Ken Burgess of Portland; Lori Burgess of Scappoose; Sibling: Sandy McDowall of Seaside; 2 grandchildren: Rachael & Crystal McDowall of Portland; preceded in death by a son: Rick in 1999.
Memorial service: Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Foursquare Church in Scappoose.
Private interment: Willamette National Cemetery-Portland, OR.
