Robert "Bob" James Hicks' Obituary
Robert (Bob) Hicks passed away on April 25, 2024, at home after a lengthy illness, with his wife Roberta, and daughter Kelly by his side. Bob was born in Cathlamet, Washington, to his parents Homer and Lucille. Bob was raised by his grandmother Antonia Hicks.
Bob and Roberta were married for 55 years. They had two children, Kelly, and Vince. They lived in Portland, OR, Lolo, MT, and moved to Scappoose, OR in 1978.
Bob worked at McCormick and Baxter in Portland, OR, owned a truck stop in Lolo, MT, and worked for Multnomah Plywood in St. Helens, OR. After leaving the mill Bob became an auto broker and sold cars from his home.
Bob and Roberta’s happiest years were on their three-acre farm with cows, chickens, pigs, and a goat. Bob and Roberta had beloved Siberian Huskies, Polar, and Shilo who preceded Bob in death. They grew a large garden each year and had a small orchard.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill, and son Vince. He is survived by his wife Roberta, daughter Kelly Hawthorne, granddaughter Heather Hawthorne and her husband Scott Landtiser and their three children Rubi, Maverick, and Birdie. Grandson Benjamin Hawthorne and his wife Cassi Finch. Cassie was a huge help to Roberta as a caregiver which allowed Bob to stay in his home until his death. No services will be held.
