Robert Douglas Langager's Obituary
Robert Langager, surrounded by the love of his family passed away at his home in Columbia City on May 5th, he was 67 years old.
Robert Douglas Langager was born October 16, 1944 in Williston, North Dakota to John and Millie Marie O'Neill Langager, the oldest of three children. He was raised there until the family moved to Renton, Washington in 1958 when he was in the 8th grade and then to Portland in 1960, his sophomore year. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1962 where he lettered in Baseball as a 1st baseman.
On September 21st of 1967 he married his sweetheart Glenda Jean Parks; they were married for 36 years before she preceded him in death in 2003. On August 7, 2004 Bob married Lorraine Shuelland they enjoyed their life together in Columbia City.
Bob worked for OSHA since 1971, both for the federal 18 years and state 10 years government as a Safety Engineer before going to work in the private sector as a Safety consultant.
In his younger days he was a drag racer and was the driver of the year in 1967 at the Woodburn Drag strip, driving his 1967 Shelby GT 350.
Bob was an avid sport fan, enjoying all sorts of sports from golf to Car racing, to college football and always cheering for his beloved Washington Huskies.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Columbia City, son; John M. Langager of Gresham, daughter; Thea E. Langager of Portland, stepchildren; Regina, Tim, Sherry, Michael and Frank Shuell, grandchildren; David, Brittani, Donovan, Sierra and Dakota Langager, Sister Joyce Kelly of St. Helens, niece; Tami Hunt and nephew Todd Kelly. Preceded in death by his brother Donald.
Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, St. Helens 2pm, Saturday, May 12th.
