Robert Logan's Obituary
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 11 AM to 4 PM, December 10th at the St. Helens Elk Lodge. Bob passed away at his home in Columbia City November 12th. He was 72 years of age.
Bob was born February 21, 1939 in Portland, Oregon to John Alfred and Estella Laverne Stark Logan. The 2nd eldest of four children. He was raised on the SE Side of Portland, graduating from David Douglas High School in 1957. He attended Oregon State University before receiving his bachelor's degree from Portland State University.
Bob went on to work for Blue Cross for 28 years, retiring as Vice President of Systems and Programming in 1994. On July 23, 1981 he married Mary F. Melody in Portland.
In 2002 Bob and Mary moved to Columbia City with a view of his beloved Columbia River. Bob enjoyed the water and everything boating. He and Mary lived on a houseboat for a while, owned pleasure crafts and a sail boat. He and Mary sailed the Columbia often and also sailed to the San Juan Island. Vacations were taking cruises on ocean liners and they saw the world from the deck of these ships. Bob was a member of the St. Helens Elks since 2003.
Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years; Mary, children; Mark Logan of Portland, Tom Logan of Keizer, Oregon, Cindy Reinert and Jennifer Swanner both of Clackamas, 10 grandchildren and sister Mary May of Camas, WA. He is preceded in death by siblings; Fred Logan and Betty Young.
