Robert M. McVey's Obituary
Robert M. McVey was born on January 19, 1928 in Joplin, Missouri to Edward & Edith Chapman McVey.
He died at his home in St. Helens on March 25, 2010 at the age of 82.
Robert was educated and graduated from Joplin High School in 1946. He went on to the National Guard and the Army Air Force. He re-enlisted in the Air Force in 1957 and retired in 1973.
He married Peggy Hohimer in Kansas City, Missouri on May 27, 1949. They lived in Arizona, New Mexico, Puget Sound, WA. and Tacoma, WA. moving to Columbia City, OR. in 2008 and 2009 to St. Helens.
Robert was raised in the Catholic denomination and he was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, traveling. He received many medals in his military career.
Survivors include: Wife: Peggy McVey of St. Helens; Jennifer Ransford of Olathe, Kansas; Sister: Suzanne Hutcherson of Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters; 2 great-granddaughters; preceded in death by son: Gregory McVey.
