Robert “Bob” G. Ollier

Robert “Bob” G. Ollier was born on May 26, 1928 in Cincinnati Ohio to Albert and Marie Ollier. He died at his home in Scappoose, Oregon on March 12, 2018 at age 89.
Bob left High School at age 16 to join the Marines during WWII. He was a rifle expert and a Sergeant. He was injured by a hand grenade.
Bob met Darlene Symonette at age 16 in Current Eleuthera, Bahamas while he was there running a scuba diving operation at the current club where she worked as a waitress. They were married a couple of years later and then moved to Sutherlin, Oregon to start their life together.
Bob attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church for 22 years and was a Eucharistic Minister. Bob loved to farm, scuba dive and he also loved to build furniture and find ways to make things run better.
He retired from Downtown Self Storage after 16 years where he kept everything running smooth.
Bob is survived by his wife Darlene of 42 years, his four children, Barbara Baker, Teresa Ollier, Michele Roth, and Marcia Kamerer VanLiew as well as his brothers, James, Ronald, and Donald Ollier. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Bob had a devotion to our Blessed Mother, he prayed the Liturgy of the Hours for more than 30 years. He was a very special person and he will be missed.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose with a Mass to follow.
Bob will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date.
