Robert R. Dent's Obituary
Robert R. Dent was born on December 4, 1939 in Portland, OR. to Paul & Rosa Mae Tibbets Dent.
He died at a Portland hospital on May 26, 2006 at the age of 66.
He grew up in Newberg, OR., graduating from Newberg Hi, graduated from Oregon State and a member of Phi Sigma Kappa.
He married Barbara L. Albertine in Portland on June 10, 1967.
He taught science & photography at St. Helens Jr. High and advisor for the school newspaper, while at the Jr. High he set up the weather station.
He was in the public relations department at the Trojan plant and later transferred to the Portland PGE office until his retirement in 1996.
He was active in community and public services for many years in St. Helens. Kiwanis-received the George F. Hixson award. Ham Radio WA7WIM. Columbia Amateur Radio Association Vice President and founding father. General class operator and Columbia Co. Assistant Emergency Coordinator and Operations Officer, A RACES Radio Officer. He had a pilots license and was a avid Oregon University Fan.
His hobbies included gardening, electronics, his poker & bridge clubs.
Survivors include: Wife: Barbara Dent; Son: Barry Dent, Son & Daughter-in-law: Bryan & Kristi Dent. Grandson: Austin Dent.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 12:30 PM at Christ Episcopal Church-St. Helens
