Ronald L. Lawrence's Obituary
Ronald Lee Lawrence passed away at his home in Scappoose, Oregon, on November 24, 2006 from Mesothelioma, a rare type of asbestos caused lung cancer.
He was born on October 18, 1938 to Reuel and O?telia Hurle Lawrence in Clatskanie and grew up in various small towns within Columbia County.
Ron joined the Navy at 17 and served on a Navy destroyer as an electrician and saw a good part of the world. He married Judy Burns in 1966 and in 1970 they bought a home in Scappoose to raise their family. Ron worked as a construction electrician on various large projects in the area. He was a member of IBEW Local 48 for 38 years.
Ron retired in 1996 and enjoyed his time playing golf, gardening and traveling across the United States. He loved visiting Hawaii, Florida and the Oregon Coast with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife and three sons, Derek, Brett and Justin, and four grandchildren; three brothers: Arbie and Max from St. Helens, and Garald from California and a sister: Beverly Green from Portland and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 1st at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose. Committal Service and Vault Interment at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Remembrances to St. Vincent DePaul.
