Ronald S. Sherman's Obituary
Ronald S. Sherman was born on July 8, 1941 at the Klamath Agency in Beatty, Oregon to Jack & Anna Anderson Sherman.
He died at a St. Helens nursing home on July 29, 2007 at the age of 66.
He was in the Air Force from 60-61.
He attended many schools in the Northwest; graduated from the Academy of Computer Technology in Anaheim, CA. in 1969.
He moved to North Portland at the age of 18 and after college became a machinist apprentice and journeyman in Portland working N.W. Iron, Reynolds and Willamette Iron & Steel. His last employment was with Boeing for 25 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member and secretary/treasurer for the machinists union #63. He has lived in Scappoose for the past 19 years.
He was past president of the Hayden Island Yacht Club International Blue Gavel; past Elk member; past board member of the Native American Tribal Council.
His enjoyments included boating and the Greater Portland U.S.B.C. Bowlers.
Survivors include: Wife Jean Baldwin of Portland; Daughter & son-in-law: Debbie & Bruce Helms of Scappoose; 2 grandchildren; Raymond Helms, Debora Schilling. Cousins: Conchita Duplechain, Oskie Yasana, Jodean Bryant, Shilia Kirk, Rena Anderson, Debbie Herrerg, LuAnn Anderson, Laurie JoLehman, Lea Wonser, Melissa Matthews, Fernando Herrera, Lynn Schonchin, Herman Anderson, Les Anderson, Norman Miller Anderson, Jr., Robert Wayne Anderson, Dean Mcleod, Jimmy Riddle, Richard Anderson; Aunt: Norma Toots Gallagher.
Celebration of Life: Friday September 7, 2007 from 1-4 at Columbia Tribute Center-St. Helens, OR.
Private interment: Willamette National Cemetery-Portland, Oregon.
