Ruby Burgess' Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service will be held; Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens, Oregon. She died at Emanuel Hospital on March 12, 2010 at the age of 79.
Ruby Burgess was born on April 14, 1930 in St. Helens, Oregon to Marcus and Katie Abeleine Burgess.
Ruby was a lifetime resident of St. Helens, sharing the past 19 years with her child hood sweetheart, Bill Pengra. Over the years, Ruby and Bill enjoyed trips to Reno, Silver Springs, Nevada and a favorite beach property in Manzanita, Oregon.
Ruby's favorite enjoyments were her children and grand children. She loved flowers, and was gifted in writing poems.
Survivors include Companion: William Pengra St. Helens, Brothers; Edward Burgess of Silver Springs, Nevada, James Wayne Burgess of St. Helens. Sisters; Addie Christopherson of Silver Springs, Nevada, Theo Gortmaker of Mehema, Oregon and Bonnie Holden of Lincoln City, Oregon. Her youngest brother Bobby Burgess preceded her in death.
Children: Danny Keene of Cottonwood, CA, Lori Shaw of Salem, Oregon, Darcy Tice of St. Helens, Marty Keene of St. Helens, Nancy Lesina of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Billy Keene of St. Helens and Bonnie O'Brien of Oregon City, Oregon. 14 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
