Ruby Mae Popejoy's Obituary
Ruby Mae Popejoy passed away August 1, 2013 at Avamere Assisted Living Facility, Saint Helens, where she resided for the past 10 years. Ruby was born July 25, 1917 in Rogers, Arkansas to Orville and Beulah (Colville) Cook.
She was married to Isaac N. DeLong, Jr., in January, 1936. From that union two daughters were born: Georgia Ann (JoAnne) and Ruby Lee. Isaac passed away in 1940.
Ruby later married Harry B. Popejoy.
Ruby was a gifted artist. She excelled in pen and ink drawings and watercolor, but in her later years crafted greeting cards using watercolors and pressed flowers and leaves.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, daughter Ruby Lee Miller and two siblings, William Cook and Dorcas Cook Lambrecht. She is survived by her daughter JoAnne Wilson (Louie), brother Fred Cook (June), sister Katherine Cook Allen, grandchildren Dennis Miller, Rebecca Miller (Richard) Landers, Joseph Miller, Richard Miller, Michael Wilson, Paula Wilson (Rick) Worlitz and Patricia Wilson (Dave) Warnock. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services are planned for later in the fall.
