Ryan Thomas Van Blokland's Obituary
Ryan Thomas Van Blokland lost his battle with cancer on November 12th, 2024. He was a resident of St. Helens, Oregon.
He was born in Portland, Oregon on December 11th, 1974. His family re-located to Texas where he was a longtime resident. He graduated from Pflugerville High School and went on to became a certified welder and specialized in quality control. Ryan was a skilled fabricator working in Austin for many years. In his spare time, he was an artist, proficient in stone and wood carvings. He also worked with his Dad building award winning replicas of Lamborghinis.
Ryan loved animals. His constant companion was Sam the 160 pound St. Bernard/Lab mix. Better known as “Sammer Bammers” on TikTok. He spread joy and laughter to his 11,000+ TikTok followers. He often ended his TikTok sessions with his catch phrase, “Peace, Love and Chicken Grease”
Ryan greeted everyone with a smile, whether it was passing someone on the sidewalk or in the isle of the grocery store with his infectious smile.
Ryan was predeceased by his mother Cathy Lynn Van Blokland. Ryan is survived by his father Dale Van Blokland and his step-mom Cheryl, his brother Chad Van Blokland and his wife Marilyn, Step-Brothers Paul and Brian Duty, all living in Texas. Nephews James Coleman and Sean Van Blokland.
