Samuel P. Pense's Obituary
Samuel P. Pense was born on January 27, 1925 in Winslow, Arkansas to Rufus & Rosella Reed Pense.
He died in St. Helens on September 8, 2004 at the age of 79.
He was educated in Bonnie Grove, Arkansas. He was in the Army during WWII, he received the purple heart. He married Donna on January 1, 1948 in Pittsburg, Kansas. They moved to Columbia City, OR. in 1948, then to St. Helens in 1953, living here until present.
He worked at Boise for 33 years, retiring on 1/31/87.
He was a member and great church volunteer for Columbia City Foursquare Church. He loved fishing, gardening and people.
Survivors include: Wife; Donna Pense, Son: Carl Pense both of St. Helens; 1 Daughter: Alice Stewart of Kansas City, MO.; 3 Sisters: Lelah Nelson of St. Helens; Anne Thurman of Lincoln Arkansas, Hazel Engler of Farmington, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
Viewing & Visitation: 12-5 at Columbia Funeral Home
Celebration of Life: Sunday, 9/12/04 at 4:00 PM at Columbia City School Gym.
Private committal service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery-Scappoose, OR.
