Shan Aron Dirks, of Scappoose, Oregon, passed away on Feb. 18, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He was 45 years old.
Shane was born Oct. 13, 1970, in Portland, Oregon to his parents, Evangeline Miller and Grant Dirks. He met his wife Kara, in Scappoose and they were married in 1995. Later they welcomed three sons.
He was well known for his love of fishing but his true passion was any outdoor activity he could share with his family, like gardening, clamming, or camping. Shane was most admired for his integrity and generous spirit.
Shane is survived by: his wife, Kara; his children, Joshua, Devon, and Bryce; his mother, Evangeline Miller and his brothers Scott, Shaun, and Nick.
He was preceded in death by his father Grant Dirks; his stepfather Laurence "Whitey" Miller and brother Grant Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-5 p.m. on February 26, 2016 at the National Guard Armory Building, 474 S Seventh St., St. Helens, Oregon.
