Shirley Ann Cole's Obituary
Shirley Ann Cole of St. Helens, Oregon passed away on December 26, 2018 at the age of 84. She was born November 28, 1934 in Burley, Idaho to William and Gladys (Craddock) Winks. Shirley attended Echo High School and lived in the Pendleton area where she met her husband Norman “Pat” Cole. They were married on May 15, 1964 in Walla Walla, Washington and moved to St. Helens, Oregon in 1966 where they resided until his death in 2013.
Early on Shirley worked as a waitress and did some clerical work but for most of her life she was a homemaker in her own home. Shirley enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing. She was a Hall of Fame recipient, and member of the local and Oregon State Women’s Bowling Associations. She was also a member of the golf association, and the Elks.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Pat, her 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children; Daughter Leola Ann Stanwood (Ted), daughter Michael Lynn Cole, and her son Christopher Norman Cole (Dana). She is also survived by her brother RC Winks of Pilot Rock, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10am at Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery with a public reception to follow at 11am at Columbia Funeral Home, St Helens, OR. The family invites you to attend the reception and share a memory or story of Shirley with them.
