Spencer Gale Grabhorn's Obituary
Spencer was born July 28, 1963, in Portland, Oregon, to Alton and Connie Grabhorn. He passed away at his Warren, Oregon, home on July 8, 2021. Spencer was 57 years old.
Spencer grew up and went to school in the Beaverton area, graduating from Sunset High School. These younger years also included working on the family farm near Scappoose, Oregon, as time allowed. Here he enjoyed riding dirt bikes, working with all kinds of machinery, and learning how to raise cattle. Spencer later moved to the Scappoose area to have a small farm of his own in Warren. He was proud of his small herd of Hereford cows that were really more like pets. Working in his own shop welding or building something for the farm was where he was happiest.
Spencer’s work included driving trucks, which he used to haul freight. Later, he worked maintenance or millwright positions with larger Portland companies on Swan Island and other nearby shipping terminals.
Surviving family members include his beloved dog “Tiki”; mother, Connie; brothers Bart (Janet) and Bruce (Robyn) Grabhorn; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Spencer never married. Spencer will be missed as an active member of his church family at Grace Lutheran in Scappoose.
A private grave-side service was held at Columbia Memorial Gardens near Scappoose on Friday July 30, 2021. Spencer would have wanted any donations to go to the local humane society.
