Stanislaus Clarendon St. Onge
June 23, 1927 ~ March 21, 2016
Stanislaus “Stan” St. Onge of St. Helens, Oregon passed away on March 21, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born June 23, 1927 to Walter and Lula (Bunker) St. Onge in Mackinac Island, Michigan. Stan joined the United States Navy on March 20, 1945 and served as a Seaman during WWII until April 9, 1948.
On June 1, 1948 Stan married Frances Rausch at St. James Church in Orlando, Florida, in 1952 they came west and settled in St. Helens where he worked on a small farm and became employed by Boise Cascade Paper Mill he worked there for 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the beach and cutting wood. He also enjoyed doing small engine repair for many years. Stan was a life member of American Legion Post 299 Mackinac Island, Michigan.
He is survived by his children Nannette Laboucane, David St. Onge, Annalee Murray and Christine Houghtelling; a sister Caroline LaPine; brother Tracy St. Onge; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances St. Onge.
A Graveside Service will be held April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose, Oregon.
