Stanley Michael Jurkiewicz's Obituary
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Jurkiewicz age 72. He passed away in his home surrounded by family on October 28th after a brief battle with Cancer. Mike fought his cancer with strength and grace while spending as much time as he could with family and friends. Mike was born Sept. 27th, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio the first of two children to Stanley and Joan Jurkiewicz. The family moved to Deer Island in 1959.
Mike wore many titles son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and teacher. He was a strong, kind, loving supportive father and husband that was blessed with a large loving family.
He was very passionate about his career; he was a steamfitter/welder and instructor for Local 290. To Mike his family and trade were everything.
Mike was a man of many talents and hobbies. He enjoyed Bass fishing, dirt bike riding, wood working and taking all the toys to the desert for the winter with his wife. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix or build.
Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years Janice Jurkiewicz; their children Andrea Jurkiewicz Cullen, Tabatha Stratton, Matt Williams. Grandchildren; Jenna Cullen, Jaden Cullen, Christina Wallace, James Fleming, Cheyenne Jurkiewicz, Austin Abraham, Ryley Luper, Hayley Fleming; Brother Robert Jurkiewicz and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Joan, father Stanley and daughter Samantha Jurkiewicz.
The loss of this amazing father leaves a whole in our hearts, his memory will be forever cherished.
