Susan Lockwood of Warren, Oregon died on September 11, 2016 at the age of 100. She was born November 16, 1915 to John and Mary (Sopko) Kucharcik in Beccaria, Pennsylvania. She grew up and attended school in Beccaria, where she graduated from the 8th grade. On June 14, 1940 she married Vincent A. Lockwood Sr., they were married until his death in 1955.
Susan worked as a Balometer Technician for Barnes Engineering in Stamford, Connecticut for 35 years. After her retirement she moved to Warren, Oregon in 1983 where she resided until her death. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, and she enjoyed making rosaries for their missionaries. She also spent time quilting and volunteering for the Scappoose Senior Center. Susan loved walking and gardening but enjoyed her family most of all and was in many ways a second mother to granddaughter Lacey and grandson Toby.
She is survived by her daughter, Penny Ehrenkranz, and son-in-law, Dave Ehrenkranz; her grandchildren: Scott Lockwood, Todd Lockwood, Toby Ehrenkranz and Lacey (Ehrenkranz) Monroe; great grandchildren: Kayla Hunsberger, Savannah Lockwood, Mackenzie Lockwood, Haley Lockwood, Azalea Ehrenkranz, Judah Monroe, and Shoshana Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Lockwood Sr. and their son, Vince Lockwood Jr.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1 pm at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Scappoose Senior Center.
