I met Susan for the first time at grandma Lucilles home, when Jerry came by on a Sat night as a bunch of us cousins were watching Portland wrestling. I am so sorry for your loss.

My daugher was married in our backyard. I had cooked Mexican rice as an add on for the caterers. In the hubbub I had frozen rice to heat. Susan took over and saved me. One day she walked over to visit. She got “quiet” I asked if she was ok. It wasn’t long till I wanted to walk her home &see her numbers. They were scary low! My heart goes out to her family. She is enjoying love, joy & peace without measure.

My condolences to her family. 🙏

My favorite memory of my Aunt is when she was introduced to my child (now 23), Nia. I took my two week old baby to meet my grandparents. Susan was there as well. At that time, Nia was a very fussy baby. Sue sat in the family rocking chair (which, by the way, rocked my Uncle Jim right down to me), and I handed the baby right to her. Within seconds, Sue calmed my upset child, with a soothing voice and rocking slowly. I was like, wow! Thank you SO much! Susan looked at me and said it was the shirt. She carefully picked out the softest shirt she owned for my baby. Although the softness of the shirt may have contributed, it was my child's great Aunt Sue who relaxed her enough that she could drift peacefully to sleep. Weeks of little peace to peace in a few seconds was such a gift. Thank you, Sue.

Aunt Susie and I had some fun times together over the years. She was the "fun" aunt who would stay with us. One summer I got sick and couldn't attend our camping trip. She stayed with me and when I felt better we took a great trip to the coast and rode horses. I'll cherish those memories of her.
