Syble Markus (Jones)

Syble Markus (Jones) passed away on May 5, 2017 in Portland, Oregon.
Syble Markus was born on September 5, 1939 to Verl and Lottie Jones in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was one of ten of their children. Growing up with many siblings Syble knew the importance of taking care of her family. The values she grew up with, she passed onto her own ten children, each one she loved dearly. Syble married the love of her life, Virgil Markus on March 21, 1964 in a little chapel near Seattle. Together they moved to Oregon in 1969 where they raised their children together. Syble either owned or rented space in several antique stores over the last 25 years.
Virgil and Syble eventually settled down in St. Helens, in 2004. Syble was a member of St. Helen’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed gardening, trips along the Oregon coast, going to garage sales and local fairs. Most of all Syble was known for was taking care of her family and friends, she was always reliable, and a hard worker.
Syble is preceded in death by her two brothers, two sisters, and her parents.
She is survived by her husband Virgil Markus, their children Donna Savage, Lloyd Savage, Dale Savage, Sue Green, Larry Markus, Craig Markus, Adam Markus, John Markus, Samantha Sorenson, her 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing for Syble will be held on May 16, 2017 at 12:30 PM the Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a reception to follow.
