Sylvester F. Czmowski's Obituary
Sylvester F. Czmowski was born on August 24, 1917 in Lily, S. Dakota to Joseph & Martha (Thomas) Czmowski.
He died at a Longview, WA. Hospice care center on January 29, 2013 at the age of 95.
Sylvester was educated in county schools in S. Dakota. He married Lorraine Schoenbeck on October 7, 1941 in Webster, S. Dakota. She preceded him in death in 2006.
He worked as an equipment operator for the City of Portland. They moved to Portland in 1963, then to St. Helens for 18 years until moving to Longview, WA. In 2002 until present.
Sylvester was a member of St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens and then Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Kelso, WA., he was active in both churches. His interests included woodworking, golfing, traveling and square dancing. While living in St. Helens he was active in the Senior Center.
Survivors include: Children: Richard Czmowski of Woodburn, OR.; Linda Symonds of Longview, WA.; 4 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Recitation of the Rosary on Thursday, February 6, 2013 at 10:30 am and Memorial Mass on Thursday, February 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 2200 Allen St. – Kelso, WA.
