To Beth and family,
I am so glad you extended the celebration of Tom's life to Florence. I just came home from that service, and it was wonderful to see so many there, and to hear Charles speak with such joy at knowing Tom. I worked with him in a couple of shows, and he obviously had such fun doing them.
It sounds like there definitely was a higher power at work to bring Tom and Beth together, and what a blessing for both. Toms remaining years were blessed with the extended family of Beth's children and the deep and abiding love from Beth. No doubt he drew his strength to continue through the pain of this last illness from Beth's strength.
Now Beth, you will need to continue with the strength that Tom has left to her. You two were so blessed to have these years, and to share so much of your lives. I always felt you two had a wonderful relationship, and how lucky you were. But a great relationship is not luck, it takes luck to find each other, and then it takes work and commitment. You two made it happen.
I had to leave after Charles spoke and the military flag ceremony because I had friends arrive unexpectedly yesterday, but I wanted you to know how honored I felt to know Tom and to know you. You brought me back to theatre when I thought I might never get back to it. You are a tremendous director. I don't know what you plans are going forward, but you are tremendously accomplished, and I am sure whatever you choose, it will make a difference in many lives.
With deepest sympathy and affection,##imported-begin##Trish Young##imported-end##
