Timothy Sheldon Neilson's Obituary
Timothy S. Neilson, 50, died on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Meadow Park Health and Specialty Care Center in St. Helens, OR from causes incident to multiple sclerosis.
Tim was born on March 18, 1957 in North Hollywood, CA to parents Fred and Winnie Neilson. He is survived by them, his four children, Amy, Erik, Jacob, and Jessica and his siblings Tuck Neilson, Lorna Neilson, Danny Neilson, David Neilson and Marie Neilson.
Tim was an avid athlete and earned many honors playing football for his high school team in Reseda, CA. He went on to play center on his college football team.
He was a religious man who loved God. During his college years he served a two year Spanish speaking mission for his church. He never lost his love of the language. After graduating college he became a business manager. His job with Litton Industries took him to Saudi Arabia, where he resided for three years. While living abroad, he was fortunate to have traveled all over Europe. After returning to the states, he purchased a pizza business in Sacramento, CA. His final job before becoming disabled by MS was with DMBA in Utah.
Tim's favorite pass times included sailing, deep-sea scuba diving, backpacking, and playing and watching football. He played the guitar and enjoyed listening to and singing along with soft rock.
He is remembered as being a gentle soul who touched many people with his wit and humor - he was always quick with a pun on words. He loved his family and children very much, and was a devoted father.
Services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sykes Rd.
