Travis Lee Thoreson's Obituary
Travis was a friend to so many. He was born on April 12, 1977 in Portland, Oregon, to Gloria French and Tim Thoreson. He is survived by his sister, Lissa Thoreson and grandmother, Maxine Thoreson.
Travis was raised in the St. Johns area of North Portland. He attended Holy Cross and Sitton grade school. He started Roosevelt High school in 1991, but was unable to finish due to health issues. He was diagnosed with a heart condition at the age of four months. By age 3 years, Travis began his first of many lengthy hospital stays and at age 7, he had his first heart operation. He was able to return to school at Holy Cross grade school but continued to battle health issues. Travis was released from the hospital a few days after his 13th birthday with a new transplanted heart. His health improved for about two years but started to decline and required a second heart transplant. On Father's day, Travis received the much needed second heart, he was 19. Life began to improve for him, he entered the work force for many years. But after 5 or 6 years with the new heart, he started to slow down. He continued to struggle with health issues.
Travis did not leave this world unchanged. As his friends tell stories of the adventures to Sand Lake and other events, they are filled with memories and inspirations of Travis. He looked normal but suffered from constant pain and low energy during the last 5 years. He lived with his parents in Scappoose Oregon and died at home on January 31, 2008. He will be deeply missed.
We all LOVE you Travis.
