My memories of Verda are fond and many! I remember, as a child, attending the Happy Hour Bible Club in her house up at the top of the Vernonia Road hill when I lived just down the hill a ways. I loved going into that house because it always smelled of food! I really appreciated Verda's zest for life and her great variety of interests.
I remember her and my mother getting excited enough to call each other when they spotted a new bird in the yard, or even when there was a dead animal on the road. Verda wanted to come down the hill to check it out. When she moved to the Warren house, she let me pick blueberries several times. But it always took a couple hours extra there for me to see all of her new cafts and hear about all the things she was doing. That house was like a museum to me, and always so interesting!
I know she is rejoicing now with Fred and I will see her again soon.
She was one fantastic women who loved Jesus, and it showed in all that she did! My mother, who is one day older than Verda, considered her a most treasured friend for all these years.##imported-begin##Jennine Gartman Lindberg##imported-end##
