Verdon "Arky" Barnwell's Obituary
Feb. 25, 1912 - Nov. 26, 2005 Longtime community resident, Verdon "Arky" Barnwell went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the age of 93. Arky lived in Warren for 61 years after coming to Oreogn in 1939. His biggest passions were his love for The Lord, his family, and working his garden. He was born and raised in Arkansas where he met his wife of 69 years, Sylvia Marie Luttrell. Arky worked as a welder at Fir Tex in his early years, and later worked as an oiler for Boise Cascade for 33 years. He was active at Warren Baptist Church and Warren Community Fellowship. An avid reader, inventor, musician, gardener, all around joyful amn. Surviving him is his wife, Sylvia of Warren, daughter, Sonja Parker and husband John; two grandchildren, Linda of Pheonix, Jeffrey Dahl and wife, Lenee Dahl of Mailibu, CA; two stepchildren, Kim and husband Tony Manneno of Gilroy, CA, John and Deb Parker of Fremont, CA; 3 great grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr, Christopher and Katharine Dahl and 5 step great grandchildren, Angela, Anthony and Joe Manneno, Tanya and Erin Parker. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11/30/05 at 1:00 PM at Columbia Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Albin officiating. Private interment at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to Warren Community Fellowship.
