Verna Viola Chrest Justin
August 22, 1929 -- February 9, 2012
Verna Justin of Scappoose, passed away on February 9th in Longview, Washington, She was 82 years old.
Verna Viola was born in Bowbells, North Dakota on August 22, 1929 to Vernon and Henrietta Gleave Chrest. She was the third of six children.
Verna met Val Justin in Bowbells at which time he was her employer. They were married in St. Wendel Minnesota on June 10th 1951.
In 1952 they moved to the Northwest for Val to pursue a career as a longshoreman. Verna was a wonderful mother, housewife and caregiver to many family and friends.
Her life was full of happiness when she was with her family. The Lord blessed her with four grandsons which were her life right up and until she peacefully passed under excellent care at the Community Home, Health and Hospice in Longview, Washington.
She was preceded in death by husband Val Justin, daughters Debra Justin and Vanessa Robinson, grandson Anthony Friend, sisters Betty Masters and Lylia Winiarchik and Brother Orville Chrest.
She is survived by daughters Valerie Hamman, Valita Friend and husband Jim, son Vernon Justin and Diane Feakin all of Scappoose, grandsons Jason Hamman and Justin and Jaden Friend, great granddaughters Hunter and Hannah Hamman, son-in-law Brian Robinson, sister Judi Whitehead and husband John and brother Rolly Chrest and wife Sharon, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
