Vernon E. Huntzinger's Obituary
Vernon E. "Butch" Huntzinger was born on April 1, 1934 in Wheatland, Wyoming to Edgar & Adah Parsons Huntzinger.
He died at his home in St. Helens on March 21, 2007 at the age of 72.
He moved to St. Helens in 1940 and attended schools graduating in 1952.
At age 17 he joined the Air Force and was discharged in 1955.
He married Ethel McCallum in St. Helens on February 22, 1957. They have lived here all of thier life.
He was a machinist for 35 years at Crown Cork & Seal, retiring in 1997.
He was a member, deacon, mentor and highly respected member of the First Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, his children and grandchildren, his bible and teaching Sunday school.
Survivors include: Wife: Ethel Huntzinger; Son: David Huntzinger; Daughter & Son-in-law: Debra & Tom Pardue all of St. Helens; Daughter & Son-in-law: Jean & Bill Wright of Walla Walla, WA.; Sisters: Fern Momyer of Portland, OR.; Deena Lindstedt of Cannon Beach, OR.; 9 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by son: Brian; a stillborn daughter; parents, brother Chuck; sister: Elsie Crosta.
Graveside service & interment: Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery: Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 2:00 PM
Memorial service: Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 10:00 AM at First Missionary Baptist Church.
